What is happening with the Hot Wheels Virtual Garage program?

The Hot Wheels Virtual Garage program will be closing at the end of January 2026. As part of this change, the “My Collection” page on Mattel Creations and the Mattel Virtual Collectibles Marketplace will also close at that time.

What will happen to the virtual collectibles I currently own?

You can keep your virtual collectibles by transferring them to a Flow Wallet before the platform shuts down. This is the only way to continue accessing, using, or trading your virtual collectibles after the closure. Mattel is providing its virtual collectibles users with a transfer bridge.

Will I still be able to buy and sell my collectibles on the Mattel Virtual Marketplace?

The Mattel Virtual Marketplace will remain open and active through the end of 2025, allowing users to buy, sell, and trade virtual collectibles. However, we encourage our users to make use of the transfer bridge as early as possible to not miss the transfer window.

How can I transfer my virtual collectibles?

The transfer bridge will be accessible on creations.mattel.com and allows you to transfer your virtual collectibles from your Mattel Creations Wallet to a Flow Wallet. This ensures that you can retain ownership of your virtual collectibles even after the program is closed.

What is a Flow Wallet?

Flow is a blockchain-based wallet that can store your digital collectibles and allows you to trade, view, and manage them beyond this platform.

I’m new to crypto. Is setting up a Flow Wallet difficult?

You can set up a wallet in a few simple steps by following the prompted steps on our transfer bridge site.
Step 1: Click “Link Flow Wallet.” Don’t have a wallet yet? No problem – you’ll be guided through setting one up.
Step 2: Once your chosen wallet is created, connect it to your Mattel Creations account and begin transferring your collectibles.

How does the transfer process work?

You can initiate a transfer by connecting an existing Flow Wallet or creating a new one through our transfer bridge and linking it to your Mattel Creations Wallet. Once connected, you can choose which items you want to move from your Mattel Creations Wallet to the linked Flow Wallet.

What wallets can I use?

You can use only Flow Wallet for transfers. If you don’t already have one, you can create a wallet on our transfer page. Have questions about creating a Flow Wallet? Please refer to the Flow FAQ found here.

Are there any fees for transferring?

Each new Flow Wallet created through the bridge comes with a small amount of FLOW to cover your initial transfer fees. Since every blockchain transaction requires a minimal gas fee, larger transfers may require more and will require FLOW Balance in the new wallet.

Why did my transfer fail?

There are two common reasons a transfer might fail:
1. Your destination wallet doesn’t have enough FLOW to cover required gas fees.
2.Your destination wallet has reached its storage limit. New Flow wallets can typically hold around 75 Virtual Collectibles before additional FLOW is needed to fund more storage.

How to Fix:
Check your wallet balance in your destination Flow Wallet. If you have no FLOW, you’ll need to add FLOW from the Mattel Marketplace to cover gas fees or expand your wallet’s storage. If your wallet has reached its storage limit and you prefer not to add FLOW, you can create a new wallet and continue your transfers there.

How long does a transfer take?

Transfers are quick, as they process within seconds once they are initiated. However, it may take some time for photos to appear. To provide a smooth transfer, we limit each transfer to 100 items at a time.

Can I undo a transfer?

No, once a transfer is completed, it cannot be undone.

Which virtual collectibles can I transfer?

You can transfer all Hot Wheels Virtual Collectibles and Barbie x Boss Beauties.

Where can I view and trade my virtual collectibles when the Mattel Virtual Marketplace closes?

You can continue buying, selling, or trading these collectibles on open FLOW-compatible marketplaces, like Flowty, or any other marketplace that supports Flow NFTs.

Simply connect your wallet (the same one that holds your collectibles) to one of these platforms, and you’ll be able to list, sell, or transfer your items just as before — securely and directly through your wallet connection.

What happens to the FLOW tokens in my wallet when the Mattel Virtual Marketplace closes?

The Mattel Virtual Marketplace will close on January 30, 2026. Before that date, please make sure to empty any remaining FLOW tokens from your Marketplace wallet. After the Marketplace closes, you will no longer be able to access or withdraw FLOW tokens through the Mattel platform. To retain your funds, please transfer any remaining FLOW tokens to an external Flow Wallet before January 30, 2026.

What happens if I don’t transfer my collectibles?

If you don’t transfer your collectibles to a Flow Wallet before the shutdown, you will permanently lose access to your collectibles.

What do I do with my unopened packs? Can I transfer them?

Unopened packs can’t be transferred. To move your Virtual Collectibles, open your packs first through your "My Virtual Packs" page. Once they’re opened, you’ll be able to transfer the NFTs individually.

Can I still interact with other fans in the Hot Wheels Virtual Garage community on Discord?

Yes. We will continue to actively manage the Hot Wheels community and engage with our fans on Discord for the foreseeable future. Another fun way to stay connected is by downloading the new HW Showcase app.

Will customer support still be available for virtual collectibles?

Customer Support will remain available for virtual collectibles as long as the platform is live. You can continue to contact us as normal for any questions or concerns regarding your virtual collectibles via our support page or by reaching out to our customer service team. We appreciate your continued support and will keep you updated on any future developments.
