The 1990s were a prime time for automotive racing, especially with the creation of the extremely competitive “Super Touring” European-based racing circuit. In 1995, the Audi A4 quattro came on to the scene, revved up and ready to go, winning nine times. Despite having a small inline-four engine, the Audi crushed the competition in large part due to its “quattro” all-wheel-drive and superior handling at higher speeds.
