Our collectible Barbie Inspiring Women doll honors Kristi Yamaguchi, the first Asian American woman to win a gold medal in figure skating at the Olympic Games. A champion on and off the ice, she is the author of several best-selling children’s books as well as a fierce advocate for early childhood literacy. She’s a fitting addition to a series that pays tribute to courageous women who took risks, changed rules, and paved the way for generations of girls to dream bigger than ever before.

CELEBRATING A HEROINE
We’re proud to welcome Kristi Yamaguchi, an exceptional athlete and passionate literacy advocate, to the Barbie Inspiring Women Collection.
BEHIND THE DESIGN
Her black leotard is a stunning reproduction of the costume she wore when she won gold at the 1992 Winter Games, designed by Lauren Sheehan.
THE DETAILS
She wears a golden hair ribbon, just like the one from her winning performance. Silvery earrings, a celebratory bouquet, and white skates complete her look.
