A LEGEND BY DESIGN

From his graffiti art of the ‘70s and ‘80s to a multitude of groundbreaking album covers as the founding Creative Director for Def Jam, Cey Adams defined Hip-Hop design for four decades. But before that, he was (and is) a true Hot Wheels fanatic.

The ‘70s Van reminded Cey of the airbrushed and graffiti-adorned vans from his youth. This limited-edition Cey Adams “LOVE” Van comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and limited-edition packaging design to celebrate the mutual love we have for each other.

MEET CEY ADAMS

Cey Adams had a starring role in developing the visual language of American Hip-Hop; his album art for Run-DMC, Beastie Boys, DMX, and Jay-Z is iconic. But before all the fame, Cey was an avid Hot Wheels collector and fan.

“I have clear memories being a kid, begging my parents to buy them. I lived and breathed Hot Wheels. I had more cars than you could imagine,” said Cey. “I don’t have another brand that I’ve been more infatuated with than Mattel and Hot Wheels.”

But it’s more than just the cars to him. “I have spent the better part of my adult life designing album covers for Hip-Hop artists … but 10, 15 years before that, when I was a kid, Hot Wheels was my obsession.”

When we asked how he reflects his passion on this project, he explained, “It’s just playing, literally playing. I am the definition of a fanboy.”

Cey loves Hot Wheels. And we love Cey right back.
