55 years ago, Francie was the first Black doll released by Mattel, and paved the way for more Black dolls and dolls of color to be added to the line. We're honoring her groundbreaking anniversary with this vintage reproduction.
"I love her fun flipped hairstyle and her little hot pink kitten heels," says Lead Designer Bill Greening. She also has the same features as the original doll, including a Twist n' Turn waist, bendable "clicky" legs, rooted eyelashes, and a "Genuine Francie" wrist tag.
Francie’s clothing has always been hip and happening, especially when it comes to her fashion style. Our reproduction wears a kicky A-line striped dress with a hot-pink ruffle and matching gloves. Avid collectors may recognize this MODern outfit from the late 1960s as #1207, "Floating In."
