Hot Wheels x MoMA Bundle

Frankreich hat eine reiche Geschichte in der Kunst- und Designwelt – und dazu gehört auch Automobildesign. Die fließenden Kurven, die die tropfenförmige Karosserie der Citroën DS 23 Limousine von 1973 bilden, verleihen ihr eine elegante Silhouette. Zusammen mit einem minimalistischen Innenraum steht dieses Auto für die perfekte Balance aus Raffinesse und Schlichtheit. Die selbstnivellierende hydropneumatische Federung lässt dich glauben, dass es auf Luft schwebt. Wie im Jahr 2021 in der Automania-Ausstellung des Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City und in der MoMA-Sammlung gezeigt, haben Mattel Creations und das MoMA gemeinsam dieses Hot Wheels Modell erschaffen – inspiriert von diesem legendären Fahrzeug.

DS Automobiles Lizenzgeber

Mattel Creations und das Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) haben mit diesem Hot Wheels Modell ein Sammlerstück geschaffen, das vom legendären Fahrzeug von Jaguar inspiriert ist – dem Jaguar E-Type Roadster von 1963. Dieses Auto gilt weithin als das schönste, das je gebaut wurde – also ist es nur passend, dass der Jaguar E-Type seinen Platz zwischen den berühmtesten Kunstwerken der Welt gefunden hat. Unsere Version orientiert sich am Originalfahrzeug im Maßstab 1:1, das du in der permanenten Sammlung des MoMA findest – und das auch Teil der Automania-Ausstellung war. Außerdem gehört sie zur ersten Sammlungs-Welle der Kooperation zwischen Mattel Creations und MoMA.

In the mid-1930s, German automakers were charged with designing an affordable, practical car to get as many Germans on the road as possible and bring the country into the auto age. The result was the Volkswagen, or “people’s car,” Type 1 Sedan. Better known today as the Beetle, the Type 1 went on to become the best-selling automobile of all time in 1972, speeding past Ford’s Model T. To honor this iconic vehicle, Mattel Creations and The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) have partnered to create a collectible replica of the 1959 automobile in the Museum's collection.

When Ferdinand Alexander "Butzi" Porsche, the grandson of company founder Ferdinand Porsche, designed a successor to the luxury-focused 356, he changed automotive history forever. The iconic 911 combined the rounded lines of the past with the rear-wheel drive, air-cooled racing technology of the future. It would go on to become the most successful competition car ever. Mattel Creations and The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) have partnered to create a collectible replica of the 1965 Porsche 911 in the museum’s collection.
