Mattel Creations Affiliate Program Terms
If you have been selected to participate in the Mattel Creations Affiliate Program (“Program”), by accepting our invitation through Shopify Collabs, you (“Creator”) agree to be bound by these terms in addition to Shopify’s Collabs Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
Posting Cadence and Minimum Activity. Creators in the Program are expected to publish at least one post featuring Mattel products per calendar month using the assigned affiliate link or code. Mattel may pause your participation in the Program or remove you from the Program if you publish fewer than the expected number of qualifying posts or if your qualifying posts do not generate enough attributed clicks or sales.
Use of Affiliate Links and Codes. Creators must use the affiliate link(s) and/or discount code(s) assigned through Shopify Collabs when promoting Mattel products. Failure to include the assigned link(s) or code(s) may render the related content ineligible for commissions.
Reporting and Data Access. Creators must maintain active social media account connections with Shopify Collabs and must not revoke necessary authorizations during participation in the Program. Because Shopify Collabs data may be incomplete or delayed, Mattel may require Creators to provide supplemental reporting, including URLs, screenshots, or analytics.
Brand Guidelines and Content Standards. Creators should read the Federal Trade Commission’s Endorsement and Testimonial Guides (https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/CFR-2022-title16-vol1/pdf/CFR-2022-title16-vol1-part255.pdf) and FAQ for Social Media Influencers (https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/ftcs-endorsement-guides-what-people-are-asking) (collectively, the “Guidelines”). Creators must comply with the Guidelines and any other applicable law or regulation when promoting Mattel’s products in posts.
Creators must also comply with Mattel’s brand guidelines. If any post materially deviates from the Guidelines, brand guidelines, or is reasonably deemed harmful to Mattel’s reputation, Mattel may request edits or removal. Creators must comply with these requests within 24 hours of the request or else risk removal from the Program.
Use of Creator Content by Brand. By participating in the Program, Creators grant Mattel a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide right to reshare Creators’ Program-related content organically on Mattel’s owned social media channels, with appropriate credit. Mattel will not make any paid use of Creator content, including without limitation advertising, boosting, or whitelisting, without written consent from that Creator.
Communication. Creators must respond to reasonable inquiries or requests from Mattel within two business days.
Program Suspension and Termination. Mattel may pause or terminate a Creator’s participation in the Program at any time, with or without cause, without prior notice. In the event of termination, valid commissions accrued through the effective date of termination will be honored in accordance with Shopify Collabs’ payout process.
