Ida B. Wells was a trailblazing journalist who dedicated her career to exposing the racial injustices that African Americans endured primarily in the South throughout the late 19th and 20th centuries. We’re honored to recognize this civil rights icon and the co-founder of the National Association of Colored Women’s Clubs and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) as part of our Inspiring Women series.

The Details

Linda depicts Wells during the 1890s, the decade when she first wrote extensively about inequality affecting African Americans. She co-owned and edited the Memphis Free Speech, but no known copy of the newspaper still exists. Our doll comes with an issue in honor of Wells' legacy.
