“The Sleeping Beauty book cover in the film features a beautiful vine motif embellished with large jewels. We thought this was a great way to tie the gem theme into the design while still nodding to the film’s storytelling and aesthetic.”

“We updated her gown with a scalloped pointed bodice and gave it a fitted trumpet silhouette with a charmeuse overskirt. The hand-drawn florals nod to her time in the forest, while the golden threads tie into her regal future.”

“Jasmine’s purple dress is one of her many iconic looks. We played with the silhouette by adding volume to the draped organza over her shoulders and added a bit of drama with a gorgeous train with gold details.”

STARRY INSPIRATION

“We looked to the night skies of Agrabah and the interior of the palace for inspiration. The diamond-shaped gems felt like the perfect shape to accent the beautiful gold border prints of her gown.”

“Her shoes are one of my favorite designs. I love the details of her heels. I also love the pleated charmeuse around her waist that leads to her train. The folds of the fabric create such a beautiful shape.”

“The first time I saw Beauty and the Beast, I thought it was magical. From the stained-glass windows and enchanted ballroom of the castle to the eclectic structures of the village, it was all so captivating.”

ELEVATING THE DESIGN

“We wanted to go with a look that felt animated and classic but also had a touch of luxe. For Belle, I loved the enchanted rose and how that tied into her relationship with the Beast. I wanted to incorporate that into the design, so of course tear-shaped gems, which resemble petals, popped into mind.”

GLAMOUR WITH A TWIST

“The charmeuse rosettes are worked seamlessly into the design with each drape on her peplum. The rosettes even accent her shoulders for added dynamic volume to the silhouette. It all works together beautifully on our custom jacquard fabric. Oh! And be sure to look for the Easter egg featured on the sculpt of her heels.”

THE FINAL TOUCHES

“Along with her gown, her hair and face were very important to me. She’s captured in a beautiful side glance, with a touch of glamour and elegance to her eyes. I’m obsessed with everything about this Belle doll from head to toe.”
