A Taiwanese-born artist raised in New Jersey and now living in LA, James Jean depicts detailed cosmological worlds filled with allegorical and contemporary imagery. As he experiments with such different styles and art historical genres, Jean diminishes the boundary between new and old, and between Eastern and Western artmaking. Exploring themes of identity and transformation with profound insight, Jean's art resonates on both personal and universal levels.
