NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS CONTEST. MANY WILL ENTER, FEW WILL WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. ENTRY OPEN ONLY TO LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE 50 UNITED STATES AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA WHO ARE AT LEAST EIGHTEEN (18) YEARS OF AGE. VOID IN PUERTO RICO, ALL U.S. TERRITORIES AND POSSESSIONS, AND WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.
1) CONTEST PERIOD: The Mattel Creations REVEALED Fan T-Shirt Contest (the “Contest”) starts November 13, 2024 at 12:01 a.m. PST and ends November 27, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. PST (the “Entry Period”). The Contest shall consist of the Entry Period, a Contest judging period (the “Judging Period”), a fan voting period (the “Fan Voting Period”) and the Contest prize winners determination date (the “Determination Date”) as set forth in the chart below. All entries must be received by the end of the Entry Period in order to be eligible. Sponsor shall be the official timekeeper for all entries in this Contest:

2) ELIGIBILITY: Open only to legal residents of the 50 United States or District of Columbia who are 18 years or older as of the Entry Period. Officers, directors, and employees (and members of their household or immediate family, i.e. parents, children, spouse, siblings, grandparents, the “steps” of each and persons residing in such immediate family members’ household) of Sponsor, Sponsor’s parent, related, affiliated and subsidiary companies, their advertising, promotion and web design agencies, all other entities involved in the creation, administration, or fulfillment of the Contest and their respective successors and assigns (collectively, “Promotion Entities”) are not eligible to enter or win. Void in Puerto Rico, U.S. territories and possessions, and wherever prohibited or restricted by law.
3) HOW TO ENTER: No purchase, entry fee, payment, or proof-of-purchase necessary to participate. To enter the Contest, create a unique T-shirt design (“Design”) inspired by one (1) of the following brands; Barbie®, Hot Wheels®, Monster High®, Little People® or UNO® (the “Mattel Brand(s)”). Submit your Design to ENTER (the “Entry Page”) during the Entry Period and complete the Contest submission form. By submitting a Design, you agree that the Design conforms to the Submission Requirements (outlined below). Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to disqualify any Design that is lewd, obscene, sexually explicit, disparaging, defamatory or libelous in any nature, or does not comply with these Official Rules, including the Submission Requirements. Only one (1) entry per person per Mattel Brand will be accepted.
- Submission Requirements:
- The Design must be creative and 100% original and sole work of the entrant. No stock or borrowed sketches, illustrations, or photos may be used. Designer must create all aspects of the Design such that it is an original and unique design;
- The Design must not contain material that violates or infringes another’s rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright infringement;
- The Design must not contain brand names, trademarks, characters, products or logos other than the Mattel Brands, which the entrant has a limited licence to use to incorporate in his/her Design in this Contest;
- The Design must not be the subject of any actual or threatened litigation or claim;
- The Design must not disparage the Sponsor or any other person or party;
- The Design must not contain material that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene hateful, tortious, defamatory, slanderous or libellous;
- The Design must not contain material that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age;
- The Design must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to United States laws or regulations;
- The Design must only be inspired by one of the following Mattel brands: Barbie, Monster High, Hot Wheels, Little People, or UNO;
- The Design must follow Mattel’s brand values;
- The Design must be submitted in one of the following file formats: adobe illustrator, photoshop, jpeg, or png with at least 150dpi;
- Design must work visually on a black and white standard unisex t-shirt and fit the following size parameters:
- Front & back no larger than 12” x 16”
- Sleeve print 4” x 3.5”
- No AI tools can be used to create the Design;
By submitting a Design, you agree to the terms and conditions of these Official Rules, and further represent and warrant that you have the authority to grant the permission and rights granted herein, and that no other permission is required to grant such rights, and entrant hereby irrevocably grant Promotion Entities the unlimited right, but not the obligation, to use entrant’s Design without any restrictions, entrant’s name, voice, and likeness and address (city, state, and zip code) (collectively “Attributes”), and any statements made by or attributed to entrant, including (but not limited to) for advertising, promotional and any other commercial purposes in any and all media, now known or hereafter devised, in the Promotion Entities’ sole discretion and without notice, review, or approval, in perpetuity and throughout the universe without further compensation, and you hereby release the Promotion Entities and their respective parent, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents from all claims arising out of any such use.
The Promotion Entities shall not be responsible for incorrect or inaccurate entry information whether caused by any technical or human error or any other intentional, casual, or inadvertent misconduct, which may occur in the processing of the entries in the Contest. The Promotion Entities assume no responsibility or liability for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, theft or destruction, or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries. The use of any device to automate the entry process is prohibited. All information and tangible materials submitted to Sponsor will not be returned. No correspondence will be acknowledged or entered into.
5) ASSIGNMENT OF RIGHTS: By submitting the Design to the Contest, you agree that the Design shall be considered a work made for hire and, to the extent the Design is not considered a work made for hire, you hereby grant, transfer and assign (and agree to grant, transfer and assign) to Sponsor, and each of their licensees, successors and assigns, on an irrevocable, exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free, no-cost basis, all right, title and interest in and to the Design, including all images, text and materials included or depicted therein, in whole or in part, in any manner or medium now or hereafter known or devised, throughout the universe and in any and all languages, including, without limitation, the right to display, reproduce, recreate, record, perform, exhibit, distribute, copy, edit, change, modify, add to, subtract from, re-title and adapt the same, to combine it with other material and otherwise use and exploit it commercially without having to give any compensation or attribution to entrants or any third party, except for the awarding of the prize to the winners in this Contest. Promotion Entities reserve the right to use (or not use) each entrant’s Design as it so chooses in the Promotion Entities’ sole discretion. You agree to execute any and all documentation as may be necessary to give full legal effect to this assignment.
6) WINNER SELECTION: Five (5) winners, one winner per Mattel Brand, will be selected through a two-step process:
- A panel of Mattel judges will evaluate Designs based on the following judging Criteria:
- Fan pride: 25%
- Creativity and innovative approach: 25%
- Spirit and visual impact: 25%
- Alignment with Mattel Brand values: 25%
- During the Public Voting Period, individuals can vote for their favorite Design at MattelCreations.com. Limit one (1) vote per person per Mattel Brand. The Design with the highest number of votes per Mattel Brand at the end of the Public Voting Period will be selected as the potential winner.
In the event of a tie in the scores of two (2) or more Submissions, Sponsor will compare their scores for spirit and visual impact and the one with the higher/highest score for that category will be the winner of the tie. If a tie remains, Sponsor will compare their scores for creativity and innovative approach.
The selected prizewinner will be announced on or about March 6, 2025.
7) WINNER NOTIFICATION: Sponsor will notify potential prize winners after the Determination Date via email. Each potential prize winner will be required to (i) execute a Copyright Assignment Agreement re-confirming the assignment of all rights in the Design to Sponsor (in the format provided by Sponsor), and (ii) respond within forty-eight (48) hours to Sponsor via direct message or any other method in which Sponsor in its absolute discretion deems appropriate with the required information. Time is of the essence in awarding the prize. Noncompliance within this time period may in Sponsor’s sole discretion result in disqualification and alternate potential winners may be selected. If potential prize winners cannot be reached, are found to be ineligible, cannot or do not comply with these Official Rules, or if prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, the potential prize winners may in Sponsor’s sole discretion be disqualified and time permitting, at Sponsor’s sole discretion, an alternate potential prizewinner may be selected from the remaining eligible entries, using the Judging Criteria set forth herein below. Winners will be subject to verification.
8) PRIZES: There will be five (5) prize winners. Each prize winner will receive:
- Design T-shirt in their preferred size (approximate retail value $30);
- A signed copy of the fandom collectible that corresponds to the winners’ design. The approximate retail value of each collectible per Mattel Brand is as follows: Barbie collectible is $100, Hot Wheels Collectible is $20, Monster High collectible is $75, UNO collectible is $12 and Little People collectible is $30; and
- One (1) $200 Mattel Creations gift code redeemable at creations.mattel.com. Approximate retail value of each prize ranges from $242 -$330. Total retail value (ARV) of all prizes is approximately $1,387. Mattel Creations gift codes are redeemable per the promotional code’s terms.
No prize substitutions or cash redemptions allowed except as provided herein. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute a prize of equal or greater value, if advertised prize becomes unavailable. Prize is not transferrable. By accepting a prize, the winner acknowledges compliance with these Official Rules. All applicable federal, state, or other tax liabilities arising from acceptance of the prize in this Contest are the sole responsibility of the winner.
Without limiting the generality of these Official Rules, each winner shall to the extent possible under applicable law re-confirm that the winner has by the terms of these Official Rules irrevocably granted, transferred, conveyed and assigned to the Sponsor the entirety of the rights in and to the Design and all renewals and extensions of copyright, including the right to secure copyright registrations thereto in perpetuity (or for the entire term of the duration of intellectual property rights permissible under local law) including, without limitation, the rights to use the Design for any and all purposes (including commercial exploitation) in any and all media whether now known or hereafter developed, on a worldwide basis, in perpetuity.
9) RIGHT TO CANCEL, SUSPEND, AND/OR MODIFY. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Contest, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures, human error or any other factor impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Contest, as determined by Sponsor at its sole discretion. If terminated, Sponsor may, at its sole discretion, determine the winners from among all non-suspect, eligible entries received up to the time of such action using the judging procedure outlined above.
10) CONDUCT: By entering this Contest, entrants agree that all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Rules; participant’s rights and obligations; or the rights and obligations of Sponsor in connection with the Contest; shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of California without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules, and the entrants consent to the jurisdiction and venue of the federal, state, and local courts located in the state of California. By entering this Contest, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which are final in all matters relating to the Contest. Failure to comply with these Official Rules may result in disqualification. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual: (a) suspected of tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest; (b) acting in any manner deemed by Sponsor to be in violation of these Official Rules; or (c) acting in any manner deemed by Sponsor to be unsportsmanlike, disruptive, and/or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any other person. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A USER OR ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND COSTS (INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ATTORNEYS' FEES) FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
11) LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: Promotion Entities assume no responsibility or liability for: (a) any incorrect or inaccurate entry information, or for any faulty, failed, garbled, or jumbled electronic data transmissions; (b) any unauthorized access to, or theft, destruction, or alteration of entries at any point in the operation of this Contest; (c) any technical malfunction, failure, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation, or communications line failure, regardless of cause, with regard to any equipment, systems, networks, lines, satellites, servers, computers, or providers utilized in any aspect of the operation of the Contest; (d) inaccessibility or unavailability of the internet or any combination thereof, or; (e) any injury or damage to entrant's or to any other person's computer which may be related to or resulting from any attempt to participate in the Contest or download any materials in the Contest. \
12) INDEMNIFICATION: By submitting the Design in to the Contest, you represent and warrant that the Design complies with all requirements set forth in these Official Rules and you hereby agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the Promotion Entities and all of their officers, directors, employees, representatives, and agents (collectively, the “Indemnified Parties”) against all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to any claims that your Design infringes any third party intellectual property rights or otherwise violates or damages any third party’s rights
13) RELEASES: All entrants, as a condition of entry into the Contest, agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless Promotion Entities and all of their officers, directors, employees, representatives, and agents (collectively, the "Released Parties") from and against any and all liability, claims, costs, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons or property which may be sustained in connection with accessing the website; submitting an entry or otherwise participating in any aspect of the Contest; the receipt, ownership, or use of any prize awarded; or any typographical or other error in these Official Rules or the announcement or offering of any prize. Except for residents of Tennessee and where prohibited by law, winner grants to Sponsor the right to print, publish, broadcast, and use worldwide in any media now known or hereinafter known and without limitation the winner's name, state of residence, voice, statement, picture, or other likeness, without additional compensation, for public relations, advertising, and promotional purposes as may be determined by Sponsor. If you are selected as a winner, your information may also be included in a publicly available winner’s list. As a condition of entering, entrants agree (a) to release Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, and each of their officers, directors, employees and agents from any and all liability, loss or damage incurred with respect to the awarding, receipt, possession, and/or use or misuse of any prize, including any traveling related thereto (b) participant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, consequential or any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses; (c) all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest, or any prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and (d) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of- pocket costs incurred, excluding attorneys’ fees and court costs.
14) DATA PROTECTION/PRIVACY: Information collected by Sponsor in connection with the Contest is subject to Sponsor’s privacy statement located at https://corporate.mattel.com/privacy-statement and applicable data protection laws. Each entrant agrees to the collection, processing, and storage of entrant’s personal data by Sponsor for purposes of the Contest. By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to receive marketing emails, news, special offers, and other information from Mattel, Mattel brands and trusted third party partners.
15) WINNER’S LIST: For the names of winners (first names, last initials, and cities), contact MattelConsumerRelations@mattel.com after March 6, 2025.
16) SEVERABILITY: The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Rules will not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision of the Official Rules is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, the other provisions will remain in effect and will be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules will not constitute a waiver of that provision.
